LABOR \ LEISURE

Reflection on Labor \ Leisure began during the pandemic when I found myself unemployed with an income. My work as both a designer and a barista facilitates the leisure of others, with each coffee table and chair bridging the gap between labor and leisure.  Concrete is hard and cold; comprised of sand, cement and aggregate.  I take this material and make it seem light, lyrical and soft. The Labor \ Leisure collection is just as at home in a gallery as it is your living room.

They’re slate and concrete and wood and barbwire and glass
They’re flat
You can put things on them
A laptop
A phone
A drink
A book
They’re for labor and leisure
